As an account manager on the T-Mobile team, Jackson Jeyanayagam has helped manage and own the launch of several successful T-Mobile products and services including the BlackBerry Pearl and all T-Mobile Sidekick devices and accessories since 2004. Jackson is also responsible for developing and producing the launch events for a number of T-Mobile products, which has resulted in a groundswell of interest from tastemakers, journalists and celebrities leading to a heavy increase in sales, tons of media coverage and some happy celebrities.
One of the many perks of working on the T-Mobile account is the opportunity to work with all types of personalities and media, which has resulted in strong relationships and coverage in outlets such as MAXIM, Glamour, BET, Engadget.com, InStyle, Playboy, Gizmodo.com, Good Morning America, VIBE, E!, Esquire, GQ, MTV, US Weekly, Seventeen, Men’s Health and Rolling Stone. Jackson also manages the partner relationships with companies such as Motorola, Samsung and Juicy Couture, and has planned and executed numerous PR campaigns that extended beyond media relations, and included viral marketing, celebrity product placement and peer-to-peer marketing.
In 2006, Jackson was named to the PR News “15 to Watch” list and was also named one of PRWeek’s “Ten Rising Stars.” The 15 to Watch list recognizes PR professionals under the age of 35 who are budding leaders and creative practitioners in the PR industry, while the Ten Rising Stars award honors PR practitioners who are driving innovation and unique approaches to PR.
Before joining Waggener Edstrom Worldwide, Jackson graduated from the University of Oregon with departmental honors in sociology and communications. A native of Sri Lanka, Jackson grew up in Roanoke, Va., and Vancouver, B.C. On a completely unrelated note, Jackson is also obsessed with “Entourage,” “Lost” and Sour Patch Kids; his favorite movie is “Snatch.”
